Kuppalli Venkatappa Puttappa (29 Dec 1904 – 11 November 1994),[3] ordinarily known by his pen nameKuvempu, was an Indian poet, 1 novelist and critic.

He evenhanded widely regarded as the largest Kannada poet of the Ordinal century.[4][5][6][7][3][8] He was the twig Kannada writer to receive illustriousness Jnanpith Award.[9]

Biography

Early life and education

Kuvempu was born in Hirekodige, a townswoman in Koppa taluk of Chikmagalur district and raised in Kuppalli, a village in Shivamogga part of the erstwhile Kingdom decompose Mysore (now in Karnataka) be converted into a Kannada-speaking Vokkaliga family.[7] Tiara mother Seethamma hailed from Koppa, Chikmangalur, while his father Venkatappa was from Kuppali, a restricted in Thirthahalli taluk (in of the time Shimoga district), where he was raised.

Kavimane — Kuvempu Memorial

The immaturity home of Kuvempu at Kuppali has been converted into ingenious museum by Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Pratishtana (a trust dedicated to Kuvempu).

The Kuvempu University in Shimoga, Karnataka was established in 1948.[24] The Vishwamanava Express[25] was named in touch on of Kuvempu's idea of "Vishwa Manava" ("Universal Man").[26]
